From 15:30 after lunch we start our afternoon activities that with breaks for showers, dinner and free time run until we call lights out at 11:30. These activities are of a physical nature and include visits to the recreation center, pool and local attraction such as the famous Olivenza museum. The camp is lucky enough to have some professional musicians who have enriched the camp through song writing and singing workshops. Studies have shown that music is one of the best ways to learn another language and the kids really enjoy it. Themed nights, arts and crafts and games gives to children to learn about different English speaking cultures and absorb new vocabulary.
Throughout the week, we have done educational activities such as researching about the benefits of fruits, whereby children were doing their own research as means of developing a stronger ability to use technological search engines, and understanding the importance of recycling, whereby children were asked to differentiate between trashes and understanding the importance of maintaining a sustainable environment.
